Why Donate?

Each year, CCHA depends on support from people like you to help us fulfill our mission.  Your tax-deductible contribution is more than just a gift, it’s an investment in Clarke County’s history.  There are three ways you can help us keep the water wheel turning:

Annual Giving

Annual Giving funds go towards the overall operations of CCHA and can be made throughout the year for any amount.  These funds help us with educational programs, preservation of our historic collection, museum displays, and more.  Click the button to donate.  You can also donate by check, made payable to CCHA and mailed to P.O. Box 306, Berryville, VA  22611.

Burwell-Morgan Mill Sponsorship

For those who love the Mill, this sponsorship is for you!  Burwell-Morgan Mill Sponsorship funds go directly towards the general operations and maintenance of the Mill and surrounding campus. Click here to donate and learn more.

Legacy Stone Campaign

This is a great way to honor family members and loved ones while helping us preserve the Burwell-Morgan Mill for future generations. For a pledge of $5000, we will add your plaque to our Legacy Stone in perpetuity at the Mill. Contributions go directly towards capital projects at the Mill that include stabilization of the Mill dam, replacing faulty beams underneath the flume, and replacing all wood siding on the outside of the Mill.   Click here to donate and learn more.

Volunteer

There are many rewarding volunteer opportunities with us. In fact, none of our work or events could be done without the participation of so many wonderful members of our community!

Each spring and fall we sponsor Art at the Mill, which has become a cultural and social highlight of our region. You can help with the amazing amount of work it takes to pull this event off. Help us hang the art, decorate the mill, or serve as a gallery assistant during the two weeks of the show. There are many fun jobs from which to choose.

There are also things to do in the Archives. Please inquire with our Archivist, Melanie Garvey, to learn more about ways you can help.  She can be reached at [email protected]

There is always something to do at the Burwell-Morgan Mill! Help us grind wheat and corn on Saturdays during grinding season (May through November), greet visitors when we’re open to the public, help tend the beautiful Mill grounds, or help behind the desk. We have a great team of “millrats” that will welcome you.

We love our volunteers! To volunteer at CCHA, please fill out this form and let us know when you can help:
